Feijenoord Social Housing

Rotterdam
2017

Together with Studio LS we've made guidelines for refurbishment of seven housing ensembles owned by one of Rotterdam's social housing companies.

We've been asked to come up with a pinpoint solution that would increase attractiveness of the houses for potential tenants. We've proposed to strip the buildings of colorful paint and to replace low quality elements with raw, high quality materials, in order to restore timeless elegance of 19th century architecture.

The solid wood doors in different shapes and shades subtly introduce sense of individuality. Raw materials cut down the neccessity and cost of periodical maintenance while making the perception of surroundings more uplifting.
